Every aspect of /grievechronic\ you buy helps Angel Brynner continue to bring you the Grievechronic universe and help adult survivors of abuse learn to thrive with unconventional, battle-tested self care tools they can use to reframe their own stories and take back their tales . Every step AB also finds ways to give any who look into the dark fantasy realm something that can be of service to them beyond it. Because it all begins & ends in the mind. The point is Transcendence. & now...that is kicking into high gear.

Thanks to Kokopellima Press, Angel Brynner is releasing a series of accompanying digital & haptic products focused on using the grievechronic revisionist aolab active-art monographs as imagination brain builders for kids, cohesive connectivity creators for parents & kids, and art therapy tools for adults on the self-care path. The M.O? Your pragmatic use of the collections of collages at home for unpacking & understanding your own arcs, using them like ink blot tests to show you what you're seeing under the surface. The premise is simple : Buy the AOLAB active-art books, crack them open... & pay attention to the stories that rise up in you taking in the imagery. Like, for real. Enjoy the ride for what it is...and then put your own words to it.

That's why the art monographs were originally published without any words gumming up the artwork. There's an index at the back of each book ...but there's a gauntlet you must travel down to retrieve the names assigned to the respective pieces of art by Angel Brynner (at her discretion). The point of the grievechronic revisionist books always was you putting your words to what you see to set your inner kid free. It happened naturally enough: even though the collages were storyboards angel brynner created to help her write grievechronic, adults who attended her installations tended to see wholly different tales in the imagery she presented, triggering catharsis centered around their own storylines. In response to that Angel created the aolab active art decks so they could continue the self-care at home, art-therapy style buoyed by words of support from AB's mentors along the way. But the kids who tagged along to the shows? They'd stand in front of the giant images and riff their own fairytales.

With all the changes in education the parts of the brain that deal with creativity, imagination & comprehension are shutting down. Plus, with incessant screen time the important oxytocin-rich bonding experience of adults reading to kids & encouraging them to fearlessly explore new worlds has all but been erased. Being the hero of your own fairytales is what built out your imagination as a child in the first place. Joseph Campbell has proven to adults that the power never fades with The Power of Myth & Carl Jung spoke about the stories your subconscious tells you just beneath the surface.

You can change what you see all around you by leaning in to telling yourself silly stories that make sense to your soul again. You don't need a new tech gadget...you just need to reframe & recalibrate.

wildly enough, in 2026 this collection of active art books|art monographs has been reborn as full-on art edu | art therapy tools with accompanying products [coming soon] that are completely in key with the impact the aolab collages had whenever exhibited in the past.

think 'grievechronic revisionist active art books as imagination brain builders & secret soul story springboards.'

Music is a huge factor in the grievechronic universe. Throughout her career Angel Brynner has brought musicians into her art installations to activate them for public events & has a long history of collaborating with deejays and music designers to help put sonic flesh on the realm for those looking in. In 2023, she curated these four playlists to build out the sonic experience for the Rathe unto the Fantastic solo art exhibit in LA county that coincided with the soft launch of the grievechronic revisionist series & the publication of Elision: grievechronic book eight. One of the first things you have to get a grip on is what you're listening to when your goal is amplifying escape velocity. & in 2026, Thanks to Kokopellima Press a secret sonics of sonar dream near and dear to Angel Brynner's heart for all of you finally comes true. stay tuned.
